A rock band, originally from South Carolina known for its country, jazz, and blues music, the Marshall Tucker Band was established in the early 1970s. The band established the southern rock genre and gained popularity and success in the course of 1970. Marshall Tucker Band managed to deliver performances to its fans for over 45 years.

Within the span of 45 years, the band delivered about 40 albums. Currently, lead vocalist Doug Gray is the only original member that is still part of the band. After continuous recording and trials, the Marshall Tucker Band signed up with Capricorn Records in 1973 and released their first long play.

The line-up of the band currently includes Gray on vocals, the saxophonist, keyboard player, flutist Marcus James Henderson, bassist Tony Black, drummer B.B Borden, and guitarist Chris Hicks and Rick Willis. The band's self –titled debut that was released in 1973 was produced by Paul Hornsby and certified gold in 1975. The lyrics of all the tracks were written by Toy Caldwell. One of the titles, "Can't You See," written by him, was released in 1973. Post the release of the album, the band decided to do music tours, and throughout the decade, they did about 300 shows per year. You may also like Muse or My Fair Lady.

In 1974, the band's second album, A New Life, was released and certified gold in 1974. It was during this time when Daniels first joined the band. A double – album release, “Where We All Belong” by the Marshall Tucker Band happened in 1974 and was certified gold later on. Daniel was among other musicians that contributed to this album.
